Ellis Kitchen   Winner 2006 International Designer Award Winner 2005 NKBA Kitchen of the Year Featured on cover of Kitchen and Bathroom magazine Client Brief The client required a kitchen for entertaining friends and family in a relaxed atmosphere to suit their modern beach house. An individual design that must be aesthetically pleasing and functional with generous easy care work surfaces, 2 ovens, built in coffee machine and lots of storage to reduce clutter. Response The kitchen with its large slimline extractor is placed centrally within a large living space providing the separation required for dining, kitchen and living without inhibiting views to the beach in one direction and views over the estuary and mountains in the other direction. The concealed 1800 wide x 800 deep work area with sink provides ample space for the coffee machine and microwave but also is a convenient place for preparing and stacking dishes ready to go straight into the integrated dish-washer. Neutral tones throughout the house were carried through in the kitchen with white Corian bench tops and timber treated in a white oil.
